With one of the largest Combined Cadet Force (CCF) contingents in the region – from Year 9 pupils at our school have the choice to be involved in Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force activities – working towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award, supporting local initiatives and working closely with our surrounding communities.
In keeping with many aspects of life at Worksop College and Ranby House, there is an emphasis on serving others, although the physical skills, such as first aid and navigation, and the self-discipline, self-reliance, and teamwork acquired en-route are also invaluable lessons for life.
Each year the CCF holds training camps, where the skills learned at school can be put to the test and developed further via expeditions and more formal training or team building exercises. Much fun is also had to get involved in other adventurous activities - such as climbing and kayaking.
