Worksop College is celebrating another major achievement in golf as Year 11 pupil Max has been called up to join the England Regional Squad. This marks a significant step in his golfing journey, as he follows in the footsteps of George, a Year 10 student who was selected for the same squad last year.
George’s rise in the sport has been remarkable, with his recent participation in the U16 Italian Open and an impressive 8th place in the U16 England boys' rankings. George is now eyeing a spot in the top six, which would earn him the chance to compete in international matches in Spain.
One of the key factors behind our pupils’ success is the state-of-the-art facilities available on site. Worksop College is proud to be one of the few schools in England with a purpose-built Golf Analysis Room featuring Trackman radar technology. This advanced system provides highly detailed feedback on each player’s swing, allowing for precise coaching and practice. The analysis room is designed with two bays, enabling students to receive individual coaching while their peers practice simultaneously, ensuring maximum time for improvement.
In addition to the analysis room, students have access to College Pines, our very own 18-hole golf course. This combination of top-tier technology and a full-scale course offers an unparalleled opportunity for pupils to refine their skills in a professional setting.
Golf at Worksop College is still bright, and we look forward to seeing our pupils continue to achieve great things on the course.
