Another morning of celebrations at Worksop College as students celebrate their well-deserved exam results. Following the return to normality, this set of students have been the first group of GCSE students to physically sit their exams since the beginning of the pandemic. This morning, the wait was finally over for students who have been so eagerly anticipating their results, and Worksop College pupils have achieved another remarkable crop of results. As a broad-ability non-selective school, one whose focus is firmly on individual progress, their impressive results are quite the accomplishment.
Archie had cause for celebration this morning, as he opened his results to see six 9s and three 8s. He will be returning to Worksop College to study Maths, Further Maths, Biology and is undecided on his fourth option – although teachers have been busy pitching him their subjects. Joining him in the Sixth Form is Sam, whose string of 8s and 9s has put him in great stead to study Biology, History and Geography.
Lead singer of Mansfield’s The Publics was delighted as she opened her results this morning – receiving an amazing 8 in Music. Ebony will continue to gig and release music with her band while she takes on A Levels in Music, English Literature and Geography.
Another high flyer is Luke, who received two 9s, six 8s and two 7s. He will be continuing his education at Worksop College, taking A Levels in Maths, English and Biology.
Netballer Megan plays for Loughborough Lightening Netball Academy, and is thrilled that her results see her through to study a BTEC qualification in Sports and Exercise.
Footballer Tanaka was over the moon with her results, which see her through to the Worksop College Girls’ Football Academy. In partnership with Lioness Jill Scott - this two-year programme will develop young women with a bespoke programme that marries top-level quality football coaching with a solid educational product. Tanaka is signed to Notts County U18s, so this programme will further her opportunities to play more football.
Worksop College has seen its Sixth Form grow exponentially over the last few years as the offer changes to include a greater range of subjects and qualifications with a focus on those that relevant in our global society.

As I watched on while students opened their envelopes, I was emotional to think of all they have achieved – each of them with their own story and ambitions. I am so proud that Worksop College was the place that they discovered their talent, whether it be sports, music, writing, designing – we allow them to flourish and grow in confidence and self-esteem. We are looking forward to seeing so many of them, along with a large number of new faces, as they begin their A levels.”
