We aim to inspire a lifelong love of music in our pupils.
Music touches the lives of the whole school community. Singing binds us together in weekly congregational practice and chapel services, and our walls echo to the sound of music-making, from enthusiastic renditions of traditional songs in Pre-Prep to the most refined, sophisticated classical music in Mountgarret Music School.
Encouraged from the moment they express an interest in music, all pupils from the age of 3 have specialist class music teaching, complemented by an enviable programme of individual tuition - beginning in Nursery with Kickstarter lessons and progressing to individual lessons in piano and orchestral instruments, or singing, when pupils are ready.
Music in all its forms is celebrated, and inclusivity is key. Our stunning annual Jazz Night showcases our finest blues and jazz musicians; the House Song Festivals enable all pupils to display their flair for singing and dancing; a vibrant musical theatre programme puts singer-actors centre stage; and all pupils have access to the superb Worksop Music Concert Series, whether as performers or audience members.
We are proud of our outstanding musical tradition and send our pupils out into the world with a wide-ranging and sophisticated appetite for music.
