Amelia’s 50-Mile Challenge:

Worksop College and Ranby House are proud to spotlight Amelia, a Reception pupil, who is dedicating her 50-mile bike challenge honouring her cousin Liam, who tragically passed away at two months old. In collaboration with The Lullaby Trust, Amelia and her mum, Emily, are raising funds for the charity's ‘Little Lullaby’ program, supporting young parents through difficult times.

In the wake of Liam’s passing, Amelia’s family reached out to The Lullaby Trust for support. The charity, known for its compassionate care, offered immediate help and connected the family with ‘Befrienders’—bereaved individuals who provide one-to-one support based on shared experiences. This invaluable support has been a real help to Amelia’s family during a challenging time.

Two years on, Amelia and her mum, Emily, are channelling their experiences into a fundraising initiative for The Lullaby Trust’s ‘Little Lullaby’ program. This initiative is dedicated to supporting young parents and preventing unexpected deaths of babies and toddlers.

Amelia, who learnt to ride her bike in June 2023 at the age of 3, is now embarking on a 50-mile bike ride challenge within 30 days to raise funds for this crucial cause. All her miles will be tracked and recorded on Strava, and her fundraising page is live for those wishing to contribute.

Emily shared, “Amelia is excited about this challenge and would appreciate any support, whether through donations on JustGiving, sharing her story on social media, or simply giving her a wave if you see her out collecting miles in the street!”

We encourage everyone to support Amelia’s incredible journey and help her make a difference. Your support, whether through a donation or spreading the word, will contribute to a cause that aims to provide vital support to young parents in need.
