The MT13 hockey camp proved to be a big hit with nearly 50 young players who at times braved some pretty challenging weather, rain, hail, wind sleet but which did not dent their enthusiasm and fortunately there were some lovely sunny periods.
Katie Clouter said to Lead Coach, Paul Willars, “we experienced every type of weather, but it was just as much fun.“
The excellent pitch was laid out with the innovative MT13 rotation grid helping to ensure separate play areas for skills development and small game activity for tactical development as well as providing an important safely feature by keeping hockey balls in the play areas.
Once more the MT13 National Skills Competition, designed for players in a range of age groups proved a popular event to compete with players on other MT13 camps and to showcase skills ability and athleticism against the clock. (see www.mt13.co.uk for ongoing results).
Thomas McGarry summed up the camp with “MT13 was a great experience - they had an impressive range of skills practises on rotations helping me to develop skills as a hockey player.“
MT13 Director of Coaching, Matt (Tails) Taylor was overall delighted with the progress made by players over the two-day camp and once again was delighted with the enthusiasm and commitment of the Worksop College young players, and he looks forward to the Summer Residential Camp to be held at the College.
