Following a gruelling three hours of trials on the 8 January, Year 9 pupil Megan Perkins has been selected to be part of this year’s U15 elite futures squad at the Loughborough Lightning Academy.
Megan is an all-round Sports Scholar at Worksop College and faced tough competition against 150 other girls competing for a place.
Megan’s mum, Mrs Perkins said,
“Megan started playing netball at the tender age of 10 and hasn't looked back since. Predominantly a Goal Attack when she first started her journey on the England Pathway, Megan's coaches have worked hard to steadily hone her skills to make her a commanding and effective centre court player.”
Her coach Vanessa McErlain- Naylor also added,
"As Megan's coach at Brigg Netball Club, Aspire and Loughborough Lightning academy, I am very proud of her achievements. It is a pleasure to see someone with such passion for her chosen sport succeed. I look forward to working with her in the future to see just how far her dedication can take her."
Well done Megan! We look forward to watching your encouraging journey continue – what a great way to start the year.
