Worksop College accepts pupils from a range of academic and social backgrounds, and is proud of its heritage as a broadly selective school. For your child to qualify for entrance, the College must feel that he or she will be willing to take full advantage of all that we offer and that we have the necessary resources available to maximise his or her potential. Whilst we do not adhere strictly to particular examination marks as thresholds for entry, your child must be able to satisfy the Headmaster that he or she has the ability to make progress within mainstream teaching and to contribute positively to community life.

How does this work in practical terms?

We try to keep the admissions process as simple as possible. The key stages are as outlined below:

  • Visit Worksop College, meet the Headmaster and take a tour
  • Register for a place (£100 registration fee) – the registration form is located in the back of the prospectus or is available by clicking on the links at the bottom of the page.
  • School requests a confidential testimonial from current school
  • Receive offer of a place subject to above steps having been completed and a satisfactory report from current school
  • Sit Academic Scholarship papers (if applicable). These take place at a similar time to the offers being made, although the results are announced separately.
  • Sit tests for setting purposes, the offer will not be withdrawn even if your child does not perform as well in the exams as expected.

Entries at any stage of the year are welcomed and the above stages can be adjusted accordingly.
